About the Position

The program coordinator reports to the executive director and will be responsible for managing the functions of NCCC programs. The position includes supervising and training program staff and volunteers and some direct service (coaching, summer programming etc.). The goals of the position are to increase participation in programs while also evaluating and improving the quality of programs. Additionally, the program coordinator will assist with fundraisers, facility maintenance, and cleaning.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to acquire)

  • Experience leading recreation or sports related programs

  • Experience coaching


  • Ability to manage staff and adequately communicate expectations and constructive feedback

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse partners

  • Ability to manage registration and scheduling of programs

  • Ability to utilize social media and website platforms to communicate and promote the events and programs of the center

  • Strong time management skills

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Google suite

  • Independent worker


  • Full time commitment

  • Some evenings and weekends required

  • Responsible for regularly attending practices, games, and scheduled programs

  • Responsible for attending and assisting with NCCC events including Golf Tournament, 4th of July, and Mud Bowl


Job Responsibilities 

Program Management:

  • Manage the registration and payment for programs

  • Address issues pertaining to programs as they arise

  • Coach some programs

  • Market programs and recruit participants

  • Communicate effectively with participants, staff, and volunteers

  • Evaluate programs and research and implement methods to improve the quality of programs

Staff and Volunteer Management and Supervision:  

  • Recruit quality program staff and volunteers

  • Ensure all staff and volunteers complete background checks and necessary paperwork

  • Train staff and volunteers to coach and run programs with best practices

  • Provide staff and volunteers with a clear understanding of their duties including daily expectations, additional tasks to accomplish, and timely feedback on the quality of their performance.

  • Partake in the hiring process for program staff

  • Report details of staff and volunteer performance to the executive director

Building Maintenance, Cleanliness, and Upkeep:  

  • Partake in the cleaning, maintenance, enhancement, and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment

  • Fill in with cleaning duties when the custodian is absent

  • Keep executive director informed of damage or problem areas

Special Events and Fundraising:  

  • Assist with annual events and/or fundraisers

  • Facilitate end of program celebrations and social events

Public Relations and Communication: 

  • Maintain a positive and professional image of NCCC

  • Communicate with the press, town officials, volunteers, businesses, organizations, schools, recreational departments, citizens, and visitors of the Mount Washington Valley about NCCC events, programs and opportunities on a regular basis

  • Regularly develop content to contribute to social media posts, newspaper column, and e-newsletter
